How to Set Up an eSIM on Samsung Galaxy

To set up an eSIM on a Samsung Galaxy, open Settings, go to Connections then SIM manager, tap Add eSIM, and scan your QR code. It takes a couple of minutes and your physical SIM keeps working alongside it.

Steps

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi and open Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM, then Scan QR code.
  3. Scan the code from your Simnity dashboard or email and confirm the download.
  4. Name the line (for example Travel) and keep your Samsung SIM for calls.
  5. Set the eSIM as your mobile data line, then enable data roaming for it on arrival.

Good to know

Exact menu names vary slightly by One UI version, but the SIM manager is always where eSIMs live. If the option is missing, your model or carrier variant may not support eSIM; check which phones support eSIM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Samsung keep my physical SIM active with an eSIM?

Yes. Galaxy phones run dual SIM, so your physical SIM stays active for calls while the eSIM handles data.

Will my phone support an eSIM?

Most phones from 2019 onward do, including iPhone XS and newer, recent Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel 3 and newer. See our device guide to confirm.
